The winner of the 2011 Academy Award for Best Picture is an impeccable tribute to the history of film with outstanding work from the cast and crew (Jean Dujardin in particular), and it plays brilliantly with the differences between diegetic and non-diegetic sound.

I’m partial to the study of Greek mythology, but the special effects in “Wrath” are undeniably spectacular and just enough to divert from the wire-thin story. It’s an improvement over “Clash Of The Titans,” and it’s worlds better than Liebesman’s abysmal “Battle: Los Angeles.”

None of the movie makes any sense, but the performances of Tatum (and to a lesser degree, Hill) allow most of the material to breathe. If only it contained more genuinely laugh-out-loud moments.
