What Is The Story?
Hotel Transylvania 2 is the second film in this movie service. The story centers on Mavis, who is the daughter of Dracula, who falls in love with a human named Jonathan.
In the second film Mavis and Jonathan get married and have a son named Dennis who lives at the monster hotel with the rest of his family.
Dennis is half human and half vampire, because of this it is unclear whether he has inherited vampiric powers or if he is more like his human dad.
He has until his fifth birthday to grow fangs and prove that he is a vampire like his mother and grandpa Drac.
The story follows Dracula as he tries to help his grandson produce his fangs so that Mavis and Jonathan do not take Dennis away to live in a human town where he might fit in better
The Cast
Some of you may be a bit snobbish when it comes to which actors are in this film.
So, in this section we are going to talk about some of the main actors that you will see starring in this fun and light-hearted kids film.

- Mavis – Selena Gomez
- Jonathan – Andy Samberg
- Vlad – Mel Brooks
- Frankenstein – Kevin James
- Griffin – David Spade
- Wayne – Steve Buscemi
That is a pretty impressive cast if you ask us, and when you see the performance you will be blown away.
Each of them does such a good job portraying their characters which takes this already great film to the next level.
What Do Parents Need To Know?
If you are a parent then this section is for you. This film is generally speaking not violent nor is the language bad in any capacity.
There are a few ‘scary face’ moments from Dracula but they are over so quickly that you probably won’t even notice them.
The only ‘scary’ part of this film is when the demonic bats fight the humans and monsters near the end of this movie.
In our opinion it is not that bad but if you have children that are easily frightened this might be a part that you need to check out before you let them watch the film.
Overall this film has positive messages and good role models which are always a plus when you are bringing your kids to a film like this.

Our Opinion
Overall we loved this film, it is funny, light-hearted, silly and certainly succeeds the first Hotel Transylvania film in a good way.
The way that the story is told is fun and quirky which is always nice to see in a world full of Disney films that all have a similar look.
We particularly loved the duality of the humans and monsters in this film. It made for a fun division between the monster and human world.
Overall, this film is really well-made with excellent acting. So, if you are looking for a fun feel-good film that will have you in stitches then this film is going to be perfect for you.
Final Thoughts
If you are still uncertain about this film, the only suggestion we have is to head over and watch it. You won’t regret seeing this little film movie.
If you were a fan of the first Hotel Transylvania film then you will love this one too. It is almost as good and just about the same amount of fun.
